Protocol 1: Hardship Pause (Indefinite Hold)
Invoked during hospitalization, medical coma, active military deployment, or incarceration. Freezes countdown on Node Zero indefinitely (requires re-attestation every 180 days).
Protocol 2: Proxy Execution (2-of-2 Dual Key)
Invoked when client has permanently passed away. Attorney submits hashed death certificate to initiate Step 1 of 2. Requires Beneficiary co-signature to liquidate.
Hashed client-side. Only cryptographic digest is logged on ledger.
Fail-Closed Succession Logic: Zero Malpractice & Zero Rogue Attorney Risk
Under Relic Legacy Vault architecture, the attorney can never take custody of client assets. The attorney only submits the cryptographic hash of the legal death certificate. The assets remain locked on the XRPL until the Beneficiary co-signs via their own wallet. If the Primary Attorney is incapacitated, the system auto-escalates to the Successor Attorney. If the Successor Attorney fails to respond, the vault enters an indefinite freeze—silence never releases assets.
